Integrating social networking tools on your website can catapult your search engine and real time visitor exposure. It is usually as simple as adding links on your pet website to your social networking, bookmarking, and photo/video sharing sites like Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Stumble Upon, Digg, Technorati, Flickr, YouTube and more.

But that's just the tip of the virtual iceberg, there is so much more you can do to engage your audience and keep them coming back for more.

Facebook - Everyone wants to be liked, right? The best way to convert a visitor to a fan, is with a visually engaging landing page. Check out PetWebPro.com Facebook page, for example.

When a visitor arrives at your Facebook page, if they don’t push that "Like" button in the first few seconds, chances are likely you’ve lost them forever. But if they do, this is one of the most useful and easy ways to generate leads for your business.

As of January 2011, Facebook reports:

  • More than 500 million active users, with 50% of active users who log on to Facebook in any given day
  • Average user has 130 friends
  • People spend over 700 billion minutes per month on Facebook

With a Custom Facebook Landing Page, we can identify your newly created "welcome" tab as the default page a visitor is directed to, and help you generate more brand visibility, credibility, and present your visitors with a polished and professional Facebook. Please contact us for a quote.

twitterIf you haven't started social networking yet, you should consider it.

Even if you "don't get Twitter" (don't worry, we hear this all the time) millions of other people DO.

Twitter is an information network. Millions of people, organizations, and businesses use it to discover and share new information.

Twitter connects businesses to customers in real-time. Businesses use Twitter to quickly share information with people interested in their products and services, gather real-time market intelligence and feedback, and build relationships with customers, partners and influential people.

While there is some debate over how many people 'actually' use Twitter, the numbers are unmistakably staggering, and cannot be ignored. Especially because of the ease of use of the site, and the sheer volume and capability of information that can be so easily shared to so many people.

Twitter answers many of your questions on it's Twitter for Business page.

PetWebPro.com can help you get started to catapult your pet website into the world of social media.

These sites include Facebook, Twitter, Linked In, and Google+ just to name a few. You are probably familiar with at least one of these sites, and their capabilities of allowing you to create profiles and a platform to promote your website and products and services and network with others.

Social Bookmarking:

Social Bookmarking, on the other hand, is a group of sites like Stumble Upon, Digg, Delicious, and Technorati (and so many more) that allow visitors to create an account where they can collect or "bookmark" other websites, blogs, etc. of interest and even share their sites of interest with other people.

The most common way to allow your visitors to 'share' or 'bookmark' your site is to provide an simple one-click button where they can pick the sharing site of their choice.

You Tube and Flickr are just two of the many powerful ways to share video and photos with your visitors and a huge component of the social networking phenomenon. If you have a You Tube or Flickr account and want to promote it on your site, now it's as easy as a click of a button! Ask us how!

Five important tips that will enhance your overall social media marketing experiences:

Article tips provided in part by Manta for Small Business

1) Create a landing page.

A landing page is a one-page website that offers your visitors a quick peek at you and your small business. Some successful landing pages even offer visitors a valuable offer in exchange for information that is valuable to you - the visitor's name and email address. Landing pages are crucial to business success, allowing prospects to connect with you on a more personal level, highlight the benefits of doing business with you and give your visitors an idea of what you and your small business is all about.

2) Complete your profiles.

You should provide as much information about yourself as possible on your profile pages. People want to get to know you, so give them what they’re looking for. f prospects land on your profile page and it only contains sparse or outdated information, they aren’t likely to feel any connection with you.

3) 80/20 Rule = participate, don’t push.

In Social Media, you want to be viewed as a true participant, not a pushy sales-person. When marketing on social media platforms, keep in mind the 80/20 rule. Spend 80% of your time sharing and interacting with others and 20% of your time promoting your small business.

4) Stay consistent.

Interact on a daily basis. Exposure is the key to gaining your client’s trust and eventual business.

5) Make a daily schedule, and stick to it!

It is easy to get lost in social media, where 30 minutes can quickly become 3 hours. First determine how much time you have to devote to your social media marketing on a daily basis, and stick to it. For example, if you only have 30-minutes each day, then utilize three of the most important social networking sites and work to generate a strong presence on them.
